I’ve been a big proponent of meditation recently, and it’s helped me quite a lot with understanding myself better and regulating my mentality. It’s not perfect and I have a lot more to learn and improve. But I’m really enjoying the work and I think everyone can do it and everyone can benefit.
Another attempt at the vegetarianism! A look back at how it went [pretty well], some summarizing thoughts, and a consideration at what is next!
Looking back at how the writing has been going for the last year. Featured reading at VolIII: Year 2
3.1/5.0 It’s unremarkably good. Strong morals, diverse cast, relate-able. Quick read, vaguely simplistic and straightforward. Got the book in an interesting way though!
VolIII. August 25th. Humbled by any support on the Indiegogo!
This is quite the raw one, and it’s a little longer for it. I talk about my emotional baggage, how it came to a bit of a head before my birthday, and how I still fight those demons successfully most days, and try to love them and me when I lose.
Bit of a fun one. I love AtLA, and in many rewatching, I can find lots of fun things to pick up on. In this post, I use Iroh's relationship with tea throughout the show as another example of a thesis that Avatar showcases. [S/O TJ for reading critically and offering thoughts. I gave it some added emphasis to address his thoughtfulness]
I’ve been about fighting the newsfeed recently. The algorithms that have taken over too much of my life are sinister, slyly sapping our collective attention. This is part calling it out and part trying to harness it. Like! Comment! Share! Love!
I worked to put my thoughts on paper after hearing about Anthony Bourdain’s suicide. First notification on my phone that morning. Really tough. I tried to explain who a total stranger was to me and why that matters and what next. Featured Reading at Another Open Mic, June 28, 2018
June 28th 2018.
We took 61Local over again for the second open mic. I had some thoughts. I wanted to share. In short, another beautiful time. I’m blessed and proud to hold space for all my friends. VolIII coming in August
A written piece about the humbling, heartbreaking, hopeless moments of the 2018 Syracuse Half Ironman, and how I found joy. Featured reading at Another Open Mic, June 28th 2018
I review Gambino’s This is America and compare it’s message against the outrage that the qipao prom dress stirred up. Spoiler: I fangirl hard for Donald Glover and think that masses are misdirected.
Spent Memorial Day weekend celebrating Peter and all his classmates at Brown’s 2018 graduation ceremony. This was a big moment for me so don’t ruin it by thinking this is about him alright?
Some thoughts from the my first Triathlon ever! 3.08! Terribad conditions! Excited for taper and the Half!
Just some writing, a quick opinion on how I’m using my time now to cultivate the best version of myself. Lots of things in the works, keep an eye out! Races, Farmhands, Open Mics, Trips, Events, Creation. Let me know what you think! What’s driving you?
