13 and 4
Finalllleeee got the bike. It is beautiful. omg it's fast as the wind, smooth as grease, light as a bird, each stroke feels easy and powerful.
Except my fucking gooch is sore as all fucking hell. Holy. Fucking. Hell.
[I should book a few massages before and between the races. Maybe a multiple pass for cheap? Iyrna had a spa?]
I took it out today, after the test ride yesterday that was ~35 minutes. My ass was real tender on the seat. I gingerly positioned and re-positioned myself. Really could not take bumps [fuck cobblestone btw. Ugh biking has changed my perspective on everything. I fucking hate drivers and pedestrians. Cobblestones are like the worst thing ever. I don't think I've ever paid attention to the multitudes of types of bike lanes. There seems to be a secret biker society of New York? Have I said too much?
But I did happen to get through 13+mile, got the seat adjusted a bit at Redbeard, and then ran 4 miles about 15 minutes after.
I could not lift my legs after, and took and ice bath, but ouch they hurt. And I'm still straddling an ice pack like it's my own goddamn baby egg.
Okay but I can definitely struggle through an Olympic tri. Not today, but in the next two weeks for sure. Got to add a bit, especially the [STRETCH/PT/REST] bike run, bike, run, swim, yoga, lift. In that order of importance.
Massages also, at least walk by the place and ask. Under 50$ a massage for a pack of 6 would be great. Add 2 extra is I pay up front.
6 week until the tri. 10 until the half Iron. Figure out a tapering schedule for the 4 weeks.
