Xi'an and Sick

Happy Birthday to me! It’s been a crazy hell of a year, and I take a little time to reflect, and mostly to look forward. Overall, I will say 26 was an exceptional year. But perhaps looking onward from 27 is a little more scary; even as I’m still in the midst of a fantastic adventure.

I call these reading Journeys Against the Echo Chamber as I try to honestly approach a book from a perspective I would never agree with. Turns out, pretty garbage book. 0.0/5. Bad writing, bad arguments, bad namecalling. I wouldn’t recommend reading it unless you’d also like to see the roots of the current political climate stemming from the anti-Obama rhetoric.

I'm an arrogant SOB, and that's never more clear then when I make-up bets with faceless, nameless Gods, all in the effort to give me some edge. Here, I'm exploring my tendency to use God as a means to reap rewards, and discuss what I think it means to pray, to shout, to live in the shadow of Omnicisent 

I poise the idea that sports are a sort of low stakes religion. Though we worship in different ways, it's great to collectively care so much about something trivial as a game. And at a time when we're so divided over harsh realities and uncompromisingly difficult decisions, it's nice to have something else we can fight about that doesn't have the weight of the future
